The Wimmera generally has a dry, hot climate in summer, with mild days and cool nights in winter.

The Wimmera experiences four distinct seasons, reflected not only in the weather but in the landscape. The region has recently come out of a long drought, and is now experiencing average or in some cases higher than average rainfall.

Temperatures can be high during the day in summer, averaging around 30 degrees but sometimes reaching as high as 44 degrees. Generally temperatures fall to under 10 degrees in the evening.
